Personal Trip Reports Zihuatanejo Mexico Trip / fishing report Posted by David Harada on June 14, 2004 at 14:14:27: The four of us were down there last week for mainly fishing and did just OK. We hit stormy weather with first couple days but the weather got better during the week. We wanted Roosterfish and the first day out on the Pangas was great for my two buddies. They landed 5 each on top water and had a blast. On my boat I landed one Sailfish and the next day, one Roosterfish. It was downhill for us all from then on, althought we caught small jacks and plenty of bonito on light tackle. Shore fishing wasn't good at all for us. We stayed close to pier at the Avila hotel since we were fishing. The beach near the pier wasn't very clean at all. Los Gatos beach and Barra de Potosi was much nicer. The food was great and cheap. Shrimp/Snapper/Octopus for @$6
US! Daniels was the best for Seafood!!
