In Zihuatanejo the horses are available for rent on Playa Larga and Barra de Potosi. Laguna de Potosi to see a variety of birds including great blue herons and pelicans. Available tours will lead you down the beach and up the river through coconut plantations, jungle and alongside wetlands populated with a variety of birds and wildlife. They even have ponies for the smaller children.

Horseback on the Beach: Join Elisabeth Ashe for a 1 or 3 hour adventure riding down the beach of Playa Larga, thru jungle, mango and coconut plantations. The one hour ride is perfect for anyone on a time schedule or with less experience, while the 3 hour is for experienced riders only.
As well, the three hour ride includes a trip to a typical Mexican village and a rest stop halfway at a wonderful Mexican restaurant. If you like you can even take a quick dip in the sparkling pool on site, or return later for a delicious lunch and swim.
Price for the one hour ride is just $200 pesos or $20 US.  The three hour ride is $600 pesos or $60 US per person. Prices do not reflect transportation or tip.
